Job Summary

As a CNC Machinist at NOV Inc, you will utilize your expertise to operate and control Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines. You will maintain knowledge of G & M codes and input them into CNC machines for production, ensuring products have precise and accurate measurements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality parts on CNC machines, such as lathes and milling machines, in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
  • You will operate, perform set-up changes, and conduct first-article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.
  • You will load parts using overhead lifting equipment, prove tapes, operate controls, set offsets, perform simple edits, deburr, and inspect quality parts for conformance to requirements.
  • You will identify problems before production runs, start and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
  • You will read blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements.
  • You will maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools to be used.
  • You will prove out new programs and make simple edits of NC programs on at least one or more numerically controlled machines.
  • You will maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
  • You will perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • You will comply with all NOV Inc and HSE policies and procedures.

Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities

  • You will focus on various computer-controlled machines.
  • You will have knowledge and experience with VTL, HBM, and GTL.

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • You will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • You will have knowledge of basic math, blueprints, and routers.
  • You will have knowledge of the proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
  • You will have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
