Description

The City of Anaheim Finance Department is seeking a motivated and results-driven Budget Analyst (Budget Analyst II or Senior Budget Analyst) to undertake a range of professional responsibilities related to the formulation, assessment, and oversight of municipal budgets. The Budget Analyst will be tasked with facilitating budget preparation activities in collaboration with designated City departments and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of citywide General Fund revenues, including but not limited to Transient Occupancy Taxes, Sales and Use Taxes, and Property Taxes.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations utilizing PowerPoint and engage in community and commission meetings as well as City Council workshops.
  • Perform operational audits and productivity evaluations to enhance efficiency.
  • Support management by providing timely and accurate financial analysis, identifying budgetary challenges, and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain and manage financial databases and systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience in budget preparation and monitoring, along with a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Ideal candidates will have experience in government agency budget analysis, including revenue and expenditure forecasting, and proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial systems such as CGI, Oracle, Peoplesoft, or SAP, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
