Position Overview:
The Compliance and Legal Affairs Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the investment operations of Duke. This position is integral to the legal and compliance division, focusing on the management of legal documentation, compliance initiatives, and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee team duties and track the status of action items to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Input data into legal documents and investment agreements for processing.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and cross-functional teams to facilitate the closing of transactions.
- Organize and maintain complete records of fully executed contracts.
- Extract and input legal and compliance data from contracts into relevant databases.
- Prepare necessary regulatory submissions and assist with various compliance-related tasks.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Applicants should demonstrate a strong academic background, proficient computer skills (including Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and effective communication abilities, both verbal and written.
Additionally, candidates must possess exceptional organizational skills, the capability to manage multiple deadlines, and the aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking. A collaborative spirit is essential, along with the ability to work independently. Attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to personal and professional integrity are mandatory.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: An Associate's degree or equivalent is required, providing foundational analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience is necessary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
