Job Summary:

In this role as Automotive Dismantling Specialist, you will be responsible for processing incoming vehicles, preparing them for the yard, and performing dismantling procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Intake new vehicles into the yard and prepare them for dismantling
  • Remove harmful components from vehicles to ensure a safe working environment
  • Remove fluids, batteries, and other hazardous materials and store them properly
  • Identify and remove top-grade tires and wheel sets for retail sales
  • Sort and separate recyclable materials from landfill waste
  • Mark vehicles properly after removal of fluids, parts, and trash
  • Prep and clean yard rows for setting and safely set vehicles in the customer yard
  • Operate forklifts to place cars for safe customer access
  • Remove identified auto parts, cores, metals, and materials from vehicles
  • Maintain tools and equipment used to perform the job and report any missing or damaged tools to the supervisor
Requirements:
  • Able to use auto dismantling equipment and operate tools, including hand tools, pneumatic tools, fluid evacuation machines, and hand pumps
  • Able to lift tires and batteries weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation to work and a consistent schedule
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Bilingual Spanish is desired but not required
  • Previous experience with auto production, vehicle dismantling, or auto yard work is desired but not required
  • Experience operating a forklift is desired but not required
