Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Spacecraft Software Engineer to join our team at Maxar Technologies. As a key member of our spacecraft development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software implementations for our spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software implementations that meet functional and performance requirements and architectural guidelines.
  • Work within an agile team structure leveraging cloud and automated CI/CD code building and test pipelines.
  • Author and execute unit-level and open-loop test suites and procedures to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, processes, and system-specific issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience depending on position level.
  • Expert embedded C++ programming skills on multicore-processor architecture.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR), Thermal systems, Command and telemetry processing, Embedded systems architecture, Infrastructure – I/O, RTOS, device drivers, hardware interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Experience with satellite software development from inception to launch.
  • Experience with large-scale satellite software development projects.
