Job Overview


The Materials Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing hourly teams responsible for the unloading, storage, and distribution of materials essential for production within an automotive manufacturing facility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, and team morale among hourly work groups.
  • Mentor team leaders to align with corporate standards and enhance existing material delivery systems to boost productivity and minimize manufacturing expenses through World Class Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and foster positive relationships with both management and union-represented personnel.
  • Oversee multiple teams in a dynamic, high-volume unionized manufacturing setting.
  • Coordinate daily team operations to meet business objectives and implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) strategies related to material logistics.
  • Lead and cultivate high-performing teams, including Team Leaders and Team Members, while adhering to Leadership Principles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and machinery.
  • Strong mathematical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Above-average proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A dedicated team player, self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in a logistics warehouse environment.
  • Previous management experience is advantageous.
