Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Nurse to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care, education, and support to children and families affected by cancer and blood disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care to pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and side effects, and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, and caregivers to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest research, treatments, and best practices in pediatric hematology-oncology.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Current/valid Florida nursing license.
  • 1 year recent hematology-oncology nursing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with physicians, direct reports, and key staff.
  • Proven track record of ability to establish rapport and maintain relationships with pediatric patients and their families.
  • Moderate to advanced computer literacy and skills.
