Job Title: Commodity Procurement Manager

As a key member of the GKN Driveline team, the Commodity Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of the Indirect Commodity strategy across the Americas region. This position will be responsible for driving indirect material performance (QCD) through a world-class indirect material sourcing process and excellent VAVE and Resourcing management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement: Achieve specific procurement goals within the area of responsibility, which may involve improving established procurement procedures.
  • Buying: Identify, select, and negotiate with vendors on product selection, assortment, and price for a medium-sized category of products, merchandise, or services.
  • Contract Requirements: Identify contract requirements and write specifications for a medium-sized portfolio or area of the business for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
  • Contract Management: Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service-level agreements, planning, coordinating, and supervising activities relating to major contracts.
  • Sourcing: Collect and analyze key cost drivers, market dynamics, and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for high-risk areas with few alternatives/high costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making.
  • Budgeting and KPIs: Deliver a budget and related KPIs for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization.
  • Change Management: Act as a team member supporting a change initiative by providing analysis or monitoring progress with guidance from a project/program manager.
  • Information and Business Advice: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Operational Compliance: Monitor and review performance and behaviors within the area of responsibility to identify and resolve noncompliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Contribute to stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs, issues, and concerns, and reacting to these needs, issues, and concerns, arranging meetings and events, and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment.
Requirements:
  • Costing and Budgeting: Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently on costing, budgeting, and finance tasks while providing guidance and training to others.
  • Negotiation: Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to negotiate independently while providing guidance and training to others on how to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests.
  • Contract Management: Applies comprehensive knowledge to independently supervise the construction of assigned properties according to instructions, while providing guidance and training to others.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Works independently and provides guidance and training to others on analyzing data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.
  • Action Planning: Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
