Job Summary:

The PBX Operator plays a vital role in efficiently answering and routing incoming calls to the switchboard in the shortest time possible. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a pleasant demeanor when interacting with the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and route them to other departments
  • Monitor multiple alarm panels and code phone
  • Place L.D. calls for physicians
  • Page overhead for employees/page codes
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Complete required education assignments annually
  • Work towards achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested

Requirements:

  • None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job
  • Preference may be given to individuals possessing a high school diploma or GED
