C5ISR Systems Engineer Job Description

Job Summary:

ATSC IES INC is seeking a highly skilled C5ISR Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, team leadership abilities, and technical writing and communication skills. The C5ISR Systems Engineer will be responsible for system architecture and design, sensor and systems integration, and developing, analyzing, and deriving requirements for large-scale integrated Systems of Systems (SoS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Analysis and Development: Conduct thorough requirements analysis, development, and management to ensure that system requirements are met.
  • System Engineering: Develop system architecture and multi-level design drawings in accordance with C5ISR Architecture Framework/IEEE standards.
  • Technical Writing: Provide technical writing support for large-scale C4ISR proposal efforts.
  • Trade Studies and Use Cases: Lead generation of trade studies, use cases, white papers, and other technical documents.
  • System Design and Development: Develop system design documents, network design, test plans, and other engineering artifacts.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with partners and subcontractors to verify specifications and interface requirements.
  • System Performance Modeling and Analysis: Conduct system performance modeling and analysis to ensure system effectiveness.
  • Testing and Implementation: Test software modules and integration between components/subsystems in lab environment and in the field.
  • Customer Support: Provide excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentation of results of analyses, design decisions, and implementations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications, Information Technology, or similar. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in integrated sensor and surveillance technologies, C2 software applications, C4ISR systems analysis and design.
  • Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Java, and experience with large-scale, distributed, federated system architectures, database technologies, virtualization methodologies, wired/wireless data communications, fiber optics, network and cyber security.
  • Certifications: Applicable IT and cyber security certifications desired.

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in an office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
  • Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
