Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychotherapist to lead our clinical program as a Clinical Program Director. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric services to our patients and overseeing the daily operations of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Oversee the maintenance of standards of psychiatric care and treatment for the clinical program.
  • Supervise and review the work of psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals providing clinical care and treatment to patients.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
  • Administer and prescribe clinical care and treatment, including complex cases.
  • Instruct staff psychiatrists and physicians in training through lectures, demonstrations, and on-the-job experience.
  • Maintain medical or psychiatric skills through participation in continuing education and certification activities.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in general psychiatry or psychiatric subspecialty.
  • Ability to detect, analyze, evaluate, and interpret clinical symptoms of disorders and administer and/or prescribe appropriate psychiatric care and treatment.
  • Ability to handle difficult or complex cases and plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of medical specialists and others engaged in patient care and treatment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, patients, family members, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Education and Experience
  • Graduation from a medical school of recognized standing supplemented by advanced study in a field of psychiatry.
  • Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved residency in the field of psychiatry.
Special Requirements
  • Must meet established requirements of the Rhode Island Department of Health to practice medicine in Rhode Island.
  • Must hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Rhode Island and maintain these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration and Rhode Island controlled substance registration.
  • Must be American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology eligible or Board certified in psychiatry.
