Job Title: Para Educator 1:1

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator 1:1 to join our team at Mount Prospect Academy. As a key member of our education team, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to students, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students, assisting with academic tasks, homework, and daily living skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Assist with behavioral interventions, using positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies to support students.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including attendance, incident reports, and progress notes.
  • Support students during transitional times, such as arrival and departure, and during activities like physical education and art.
  • Assist with community-based activities and appointments, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Two years' experience interacting with children/youth, preferably in a educational or therapeutic setting
