We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher Academic Case Manager to join our team at WhatJobs. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic and personal growth of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with special education needs, following the school curriculum and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with the education team to develop and implement academic and behavioral interventions, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Assist regular classroom teachers in developing instructional strategies to support students with special education needs.
- Implement specialized accommodations for standardized testing and alternative testing methods as needed.
- Complete case management paperwork duties related to IEP and evaluation procedures.
- Assist in purchasing supplies related to specialized instruction and assessment needs.
- Maintain and submit documentation, including lesson plans, progress reports, grading, and IEP evaluation and ITP progress forms.
- Participate in ongoing school curriculum development, professional development, evaluation, and assessment.
- Participate in mandated and assigned professional training offered in the program.
- Direct and supervise 1:1 aides and teaching assistants in collaboration with the Dean of Students.
- Aid in planning and supervising school field trips.
- Participate in treatment team, systems, and faculty meetings as required.
- Maintain students' confidentiality and report all pertinent information to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- 21 years of age
- Required: Bachelor's Degree with a professional educator's certification with an endorsement in Special Education for the appropriate grade level.
- Preferred: Two or more years' experience in instruction in the field of special education, particularly at the middle school and high school levels.
- Experience working with students with educational disabilities.
- New Hampshire Teacher License.
