Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with special education needs, following the school curriculum and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with the education team to develop and implement academic and behavioral interventions, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist regular classroom teachers in developing instructional strategies to support students with special education needs.
  • Implement specialized accommodations for standardized testing and alternative testing methods as needed.
  • Complete case management paperwork duties related to IEP and evaluation procedures.
  • Assist in purchasing supplies related to specialized instruction and assessment needs.
  • Maintain and submit documentation, including lesson plans, progress reports, grading, and IEP evaluation and ITP progress forms.
  • Participate in ongoing school curriculum development, professional development, evaluation, and assessment.
  • Participate in mandated and assigned professional training offered in the program.
  • Direct and supervise 1:1 aides and teaching assistants in collaboration with the Dean of Students.
  • Aid in planning and supervising school field trips.
  • Participate in treatment team, systems, and faculty meetings as required.
  • Maintain students' confidentiality and report all pertinent information to the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree with a professional educator's certification with an endorsement in Special Education for the appropriate grade level.
  • Preferred: Two or more years' experience in instruction in the field of special education, particularly at the middle school and high school levels.
  • Experience working with students with educational disabilities.
  • New Hampshire Teacher License.
