Job Summary

VetJobs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Operations Manager to lead and coordinate plant operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safety and environmental compliance, as well as overseeing quality, personnel, and production aspects of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance at all times, and participate in the company safety program.
  • Conduct monthly activities and drills, and work with Plant Superintendent and Department Superintendents to support Performance Excellence (PE) activities.
  • Develop employees to focus on safety behaviors and mentor new Shift Supervisors.
  • Coordinate and follow through on personnel issues, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work with Shift Supervisors and Department Superintendents to identify training needs and coordinate training.
  • Maintain a global understanding of plant operations and make decisions in all areas of the operation in the absence of day shift Leadership.
  • Coordinate all maintenance resources and make necessary contacts with sales, environmental, and other contacts.
  • Be the main contact for all security issues in the absence of day shift Leadership.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in plant operations and management.
