Collaborating closely with various clinical departments, you will help enhance service revenue, minimize accounts receivable, and analyze denial trends to implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough retrospective reviews of denied charges related to physician services.
- Analyze trends in invalid denials and specific submission requirements from payers.
- Engage in extensive follow-up to investigate and rectify payment denial issues.
- Utilize various applications to manage outstanding accounts effectively.
- Research and interpret payer contract terms relevant to the appeals process.
- Ensure timely completion of denial reviews to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Keep policies and procedures related to managed care and payors up to date.
- Participate in compliance training and assist in onboarding new team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED in a relevant field.
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
- 3-5 years of experience in physician billing.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and medical terminology.
- Experience with third-party reimbursement processes and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 CM coding guidelines.
- Proven critical thinking and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent computer skills with a strong adherence to coding guidelines.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Certified Professional Coder Certificate (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite requirements. A dedicated workspace is essential for maintaining a productive work environment.
