Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide counseling services to clients with substance use disorders, including those struggling with opioids. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, conduct individual and group sessions, and maintain accurate documentation of client progress.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide counseling sessions as mandated by applicable regulations, including Federal, State, Local, and Accreditation bodies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, including intake assessments, treatment plans, psycho-socials, progress notes, and records of contact with other agencies.
  • Be knowledgeable of and follow all agency and program-specific policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Vocational staff to integrate vocational rehabilitation into the overall treatment process.
  • Provide active assistance to clients in regards to maintenance of public assistance or other benefits, and be familiar with rules and regulations of Human Resources Administration.
  • Link clients up with necessary medical and psychiatric providers, and support them in their follow-through on these matters as needed.
  • Conduct intake interviews, pre-screenings, and other admission-related activities as necessary.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and meetings.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions.
  • Participate in the rotation schedule for Saturday Clinic.
  • Fills in for counselors who are on leave.
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
  • BA in Human Services plus 2 years equivalent experience or Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
  • Understanding of substance use and/or Methadone treatment and basic counseling skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a complex team.
  • Multi-culturally sensitive to the needs of clients in treatment.
  • Computer competent.
