Job Summary:

LESC is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to provide treatment and counseling services to promote rehabilitation and client-centered interventions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of substance use treatment, including Methadone detoxification and withdrawal symptoms.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients, develop treatment plans, and assess client progress to recommend needed services.
  • Teach clients stress management techniques and help them navigate life circumstances.
  • Manage legal reports, court letters, EAP, and educational assistance.
  • Collaborate with vocational staff to integrate rehabilitation into the treatment process.
  • Refer clients for consultations as necessary.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and multi-disciplinary team settings.
  • Provide information to assess clients and collaborate on treatment planning.
  • Monitor and integrate urinalysis data into treatment planning.
  • Complete in-service training and other requirements.
  • Participate in meetings as directed by the supervisor.
  • Fulfill duties as requested or assigned.

Schedule Options:
  • Sunday-Thursday 8AM-4PM or 2PM-10PM
  • Tuesday-Saturday 8AM-4PM or 2PM-10PM
  • Friday-Tuesday 2PM-10PM

Requirements:
  • CASAC and 1 year experience in SUD preferred. OR CASAC-T and 3 years' experience in SUD; in addition, must obtain CASAC within 6 months
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Knowledge of substance use treatment, including Methadone detoxification and withdrawal symptoms
  • Must be multi-culturally sensitive to client needs
  • Familiarity with Therapeutic Community process

Compensation:
$50,000 - $60,000 / year dependent on experience
