About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Independent Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy department and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed pharmacists in various activities of the pharmacy department, including dispensing medication, maintaining patient records, and processing equipment and supply orders.
  • Set up, package, and label medication doses, and perform designated tasks regarding the preparation of sterile products.
  • Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards and drug handling, and notify pharmacist staff of dispensing, storage, packaging, and/or related issues.
  • Properly rotate stock, supplies, packaging materials, and shipping supplies, and maintain the cleanliness of the registered and packaging space.
  • Function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines, with deviation approved by the supervising pharmacist.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a high-volume pharmacy, or equivalent setting required.
  • Experience working with online claims processing system preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and an aptitude for working with other health care professionals.
