ROLE SUMMARY
The Transportation Driver plays a crucial role in facilitating non-emergency transportation for individuals engaged in recovery processes. This position ensures safe and reliable transit for participants to various essential destinations, including addiction treatment facilities, medical appointments, support group meetings, and their homes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safe Vehicle Operation:
- Drive the assigned vehicle responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Timely Passenger Transport:
- Ensure punctual pickup and drop-off of passengers at designated locations, following established routes and schedules that may vary.
Vehicle Upkeep:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the vehicle, including checking oil levels, tire pressure, and lights. Report any mechanical issues immediately.
Exceptional Customer Service:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining a professional attitude, assisting passengers as necessary, and addressing any inquiries or concerns courteously.
- Engage with diverse populations while practicing cultural humility.
Accurate Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed logs of driving activities, including mileage and service hours. Complete all required transportation documentation accurately.
Safety Adherence:
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of seat belts, proper lifting techniques, and compliance with company safety policies.
Effective Communication:
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and team members regarding transportation status, road conditions, and any unexpected issues.
Emergency Response:
- Act promptly in emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns or accidents, following company procedures to ensure the safety of passengers and cargo.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about local events and trends within the recovery community.
- Assist with special projects and undertake other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of five years of driving experience.
- No more than two at-fault accidents in the past three years.
- Access to a personal vehicle for participant transportation.
- Hold personal automobile liability insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident, and $100,000 for property damage.
- Willingness to sign a motor vehicle record release form and maintain fewer than six deficiency points on the driving record.
- Vehicle must be legally registered with current tags.
- No health issues that restrict driver licensing.
- Pass pre-employment and regular drug screenings.
- Availability to work early mornings and weekends.
- Ability to complete I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
- Undergo a background check (prior convictions may not disqualify an applicant).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- This is a full-time position, typically requiring 40 hours per week, including early mornings and weekends.
- Travel is necessary as work is primarily conducted from your own vehicle.
