Job Title: Release Manager

This role requires an experienced Agile Release Train Engineer to serve as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).

The major responsibilities include facilitating ART events and processes, assisting teams in delivering value, and ensuring Feature commitments are met.

This includes working with teams to determine if features will be completed, understanding why something might not be completed, and helping to mitigate issues preventing features from completing.

The role also facilitates horizontal and vertical communication across teams to identify impediments that may prevent team progress and works on mitigation plans as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage release processes for code through development, test, and production environments.
  • Lead the effort of recommending and/or defining release management tools strategy to ensure process requirements or release management are built in.
  • Coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Project/Program Leaders in agile practices.
  • Facilitate team agile events, such as Sprint Planning, Retro, Planning, etc.
  • Track and resolve impediments/blockers brought up by Scrum Masters.
  • Manage and mitigate risk and opportunities associated with effective development and execution, including deconflicting and prioritizing tasks.
  • Assist in coordination with external segments as needed.
  • Facilitate System Demos.
  • Drive improvement in Release Train.
  • Assist with tracking execution of features.
  • Work with Product Management to ensure development strategy and product execution align.
  • Encourage collaboration between teams.
  • Facilitate progress toward team goals.
  • Promote and facilitate continuous team improvement (technical, interpersonal).
  • Ensure Scrum practices are followed (Time Logging, Comments, WIP limits).
  • Regular and consistent communication and coordination with and between stakeholders and teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Stakeholders to meet mission goals.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of product, process, and the team.
Qualifications:
  • SAFe 5.1 SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification.
  • Experience providing technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
  • Experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives.
  • Significant experience working within SAFe and Agile frameworks specifically as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, or Product Owner.
  • Experience leading teams through the delivery of capabilities (software development or infrastructure modernization) using agile methodologies.
  • Experience interfacing with senior management and negotiating with clients on requirements and deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.
  • Candidate must have an active TS/SCI.
  • Candidate must have a MA/MS degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience. This may be substituted with a BS/BA degree and a minimum of 6 years of total experience.
