About the Role

Eliassen Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing support for daily operations and maintenance of a federal customer network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with system architects, network engineers, and software developers to maintain and troubleshoot servers, including Linux and Windows AWS EC2 instances, S3 storage buckets, and other AWS services.
  • Participate in daily operations, including team meetings and troubleshooting calls, to ensure seamless system performance.
  • Lead small workgroups and work assigned projects to successful completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Coordinate with business and technology teams on system/software requirements, creating and updating system/software documentation as needed.
  • Research and suggest emerging technologies for deployment, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
Requirements
  • Expert-level knowledge of Linux and Windows administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, including shell scripting and Nagios Core experience.
  • Expert knowledge of administering and troubleshooting AWS services, including CloudFormation.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cost efficiency strategies and ability to create/maintain system/software diagrams/documents.
  • Demonstrated experience with Ansible playbooks, Active Directory, and Windows Server Local Group Policies.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols and ability to create/maintain system/software diagrams/documents.
Desired Skills
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
  • Understanding of Git and Subversion repositories, IPSec site-to-site VPNs, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Experience in evaluating solution alternatives, design, and communicating recommendations to the program team.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related discipline, with 8+ years of prior relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
