Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Supervising Transportation Planner, the Senior Transportation Planner will play a pivotal role in enhancing and refining complete streets standards, policies, and procedures. This position is essential for advancing the Department's initiatives related to Complete Streets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various functional units within the Department, including Planning, Design, and Maintenance, to ensure the integration of complete streets principles into departmental policies.
  • Engage with external stakeholders through the California Walk and Bike Technical Advisory Committee (CWBTAC) to provide strategic insights and technical support for active transportation initiatives.
  • Drive innovations in active transportation, focusing on training for quick-build projects and enhancing the encroachment permit process.
  • Represent the complete streets team in diverse committees and workgroups, contributing to the update of the Complete Streets Action Plan and the development of resources for the Complete Streets Hub.
