Position: Staff Accountant

Location: Hybrid - Must be within 1-hour commutable distance of Vienna, VA

Status: Non-exempt

Compensation: $28.85 per hour

Overview:

IntelliDyne is in search of a Staff Accountant to join our corporate office. This role is pivotal within the Finance & Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Staff Accountant 3. The selected candidate will engage in various accounting and financial operations essential to the organization’s success.

The Staff Accountant will oversee the complete cycle of accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable. Responsibilities include daily entry of payable vouchers and cash receipts, reconciling sub-reports, correcting timesheets, and collaborating with the Staff Accountant 3 on payroll processing. Furthermore, this role ensures the financial system's integrity, reliability, and compliance with professional accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Organize and file documents electronically, ensuring the department remains efficient.
  • Implement and uphold effective internal controls.
  • Assist the CFO in preparing DCAA financial submissions and related documentation.
  • Oversee cash disbursements and receipts, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
  • Become proficient in the Deltek system to maximize its capabilities, particularly regarding travel expenses.
  • Stay updated on Deltek enhancements and communicate changes to the team.
  • Support the CFO with audit requests and other ad hoc inquiries.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
  • Strong multitasking skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility to manage ad-hoc requests efficiently.
