Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Neighbors Emergency Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position patients and examining tables to obtain optimum views of the specified area of the body requested by physicians.
  • Practice radiation safety techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Administer and consent patients for contrast procedures, including IV and oral contrast.
  • Fill out appropriate paperwork and ensure proper documentation in patients' charts.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental and operational policies of Neighbors Emergency Center.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and QA procedures.
  • Explain procedures and treatments to patients, taking into account language barriers.
  • Provide safe transportation of patients to and from the patient care unit.
  • Perform moderate and waived testing, as well as interpret test results and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain and use all instruments in the Clinical Laboratory safely and correctly.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with state and federal Clinical Laboratory rules and regulations.
  • Perform quality control procedures and maintain records on these checks.
  • Perform calibrations in compliance with manufacturer's requirements.
  • Oversee documentation of temperatures/humidity checks.
  • Monitor send-out lab procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new testing methods, products, and instrumentation.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and submit orders for restocking as needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to regulations and ER policies and procedures pertaining to safety, emergency preparedness, infection control, OSHA, fire safety, and hazardous materials.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient-related issues.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
  • Treat all patients, visitors, and staff members fairly and with respect.
  • Utilize effective communication methods and skills.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • At least 1 year of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current State licensure.
  • Current BCLS Certification.

Language, Mathematical, And/OR Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
