Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Production Manager, the Production Assembler I and II plays a crucial role in the installation and assembly of various components. This position requires collaboration within a team to ensure the successful assembly of complete products or multiple components across diverse builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install various elements of box trucks and vans, including shelving, bumpers, flooring, doors, partitions, e-trac, sub-frames, and specialized equipment such as ladder racks using an array of hand and power tools.
- Cut, modify, and preassemble materials for installation.
- Apply sealants to vehicle seams and remove excess materials.
- Conduct assembly utilizing refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical techniques.
- Assist in the production of wiring assemblies.
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Interpret blueprints and work instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately.
- Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Complete quality control measures and report any discrepancies in product or assembly to management.
- Communicate effectively with production management through forms and reports.
- Provide assistance to team members as needed.
- Follow daily instructions from supervisors based on operational needs.
- Ensure proper fitting and securing of all components.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities across departments.
- Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting to foster continuous improvement in products and processes.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Compensation
Pay range: $15-20 per hour, based on experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or commercial vehicle upfitting.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- 1-3 years of experience as an assembler or fabricator, particularly in chassis preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical experience in automotive or housing sectors.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
- 3+ years of mechanical experience in a production setting.
