Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a strategic pipeline of major gift solicitations aimed at securing a minimum of one million dollars annually for the institution.
  • Conduct face-to-face visits to assess donor capacity, inclination, and interests, thereby identifying potential areas of support.
  • Coordinate campus visits, tours, and cultivation events for assigned prospects, ensuring meaningful engagement.
  • Prepare clear and strategic briefing materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and faculty to engage effectively with prospective donors.
  • Draft both customized and standardized proposals, correspondence, and reports that are compelling and accurate.
  • Monitor fundraising progress and manage donor activity within the assigned portfolio.
  • Familiarize oneself with institutional fundraising priorities and articulate the case for support to alumni, parents, and friends.
  • Develop tailored strategies for each major gift donor in the portfolio to guide engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Utilize alumni relations events to enhance philanthropic strategies for major gift donors.
  • Build a network within designated regions to drive engagement and facilitate donor cultivation.
  • Oversee stewardship efforts for assigned prospects, ensuring ongoing relationship management.
  • Collaborate effectively within the broader Advancement team and across departments.
  • Document donor visits promptly to maintain accurate records.
  • Perform additional development-related duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements: This role necessitates extensive travel within the state, with a focus on regional engagement.

Work Schedule: Flexibility in work hours may be required, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with higher education and non-profit fundraising, including advanced fundraising techniques and donor relations.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Teams, Outlook, and Excel; experience with CRM systems, preferably Raiser's Edge.
  • Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, and capable of managing confidential information.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of two to four years in face-to-face fundraising or major gift solicitation is essential.
