Talent Development Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Talent Development Manager to join our team at a prominent law firm in New York City.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent development strategy to support the Corporate Finance and Securities practice group.
  • Work closely with the Staffing Partner(s) to coordinate the assignment of Associates to ongoing and new matters.
  • Collaborate with Partners to ensure that appropriate developmental and training messages are given during Associate performance evaluations.
  • Be familiar with the Associates' reviews, their matters, workloads, and professional development goals.
  • Counsel Associates on their career goals and provide guidance on their professional development.
  • Work closely with the Training Partner(s) and the Professional Development team to create and implement a multi-tiered transactional training program.
  • Help develop and facilitate ad hoc events to foster greater cohesion and communication within the Department.
  • Manage the onboarding of lateral and first-year Associates and exit procedures for departing associates.

Requirements:

  • JD degree required.
  • Four to eight years of law firm or other relevant experience, with capital markets experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • High responsiveness to time-sensitive issues.
  • Flexibility with respect to working hours.
  • In-person attendance on a hybrid schedule is expected.
  • The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
