Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable professional to fulfill the role of the Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) Systems Coordinator. This position is essential for ensuring the secure and effective distribution of medications within healthcare settings. The coordinator will be tasked with configuring and personalizing the ADC system to meet the unique requirements and workflows of various facilities, including managing formulary updates, clinical data modifications, and overseeing the integrity of data within the Pyxis system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison with ADC system vendors, fostering relationships and ensuring prompt resolution of technical challenges.
  • Support end-users in medication management systems, addressing production operation issues related to ADC functionality.
  • Provide training and resources to end-users to enhance their proficiency with the ADC system, ensuring timely responses to user inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather ADC business requirements and integrate with other technologies.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Monitor ADC system usage and generate reports to assess performance.
  • Develop test plans and migration documents for system upgrades and implementations.
  • Advise departmental staff on application development and best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with end-users and management regarding application proposals and requirements.
  • Translate business needs into design solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Lead optimization efforts for assigned applications through effective vendor communication.
  • Participate in change management processes for production environment modifications.
  • Perform system configurations as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with multi-system integration and common challenges in enterprise technology.
  • Understanding of healthcare delivery processes and best practices.
  • Experience in UAT testing and production validation.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

  • Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician with experience in healthcare informatics or related fields.
  • Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Expertise in ADC System Administration within a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to medication management.
  • Experience in application configuration and troubleshooting.
