Job Title: Academic Advising and Recruitment Coordinator

Colorado State University is seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Advising and Recruitment Coordinator to join our team. This is a 12-month, full-time position in the School of Education's Educator Preparation program.

Job Summary:

The Academic Advising and Recruitment Coordinator will play a central role in strengthening departmental efforts to provide quality advising and promote undergraduate and graduate student success. This position will be responsible for providing academic support and coaching, mentoring, advising, and counseling for students looking to pursue a career in education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-program advising for current undergraduate and post-bachelor students, focusing on pre-registration and registration, class schedules, and university policies related to academics.
  • Offer pre-admission advising to prospective teacher licensure students in the Undergraduate, Post-Bachelor, and M.Ed. + Teacher Licensure programs.
  • Contribute to advising prospective students interested in learning more about educator preparation programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment goals, practices, and messaging to all students, families, and communities.
  • Collaborate with SOE leadership, program coordinators, faculty, and staff to create and maintain strategic recruitment initiatives.
  • Assist in SOE Advising Center support and office management, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience providing students with guidance and information regarding academic programming and career planning
  • Demonstrated ability to advance the department's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and access
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including experience making effective public presentations to a variety of audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience recruiting, advising, counseling, teaching, and/or supervising individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with a variety of constituents, including students, faculty, and staff
