Faculty Position in Engineering Education

Colorado State University is seeking dynamic and innovative educators to join our faculty in the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering. We are committed to empowering students from all engineering disciplines as they embark on their academic journey.

Job Summary

We are seeking full-time, career-line faculty positions within our new common first-year engineering program. The ideal candidates will bring enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, a passion for innovation in engineering education, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Teach foundational courses in the first-year program, including courses in engineering fundamentals and engineering for grand challenges.
  • Serve on college or university committees.
  • Conduct and publish high-impact research in engineering education or an area of technical expertise, maintaining a national or international scholarly reputation.
  • Lead interdisciplinary research efforts and collaborate with colleagues to secure external funding.
Qualifications
  • Instructor: MS in an engineering discipline or other relevant field, with a commitment to supporting students with historically marginalized identities through culturally responsive pedagogy, mentorship, and advising.
  • Associate Professor: PhD in an engineering discipline, with 5+ years of teaching experience in an academic setting, demonstrated leadership in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Full Professor: PhD in an engineering discipline, with a proven track record of excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship in an academic setting, demonstrated history of leadership in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within educational environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing curriculum with socially/culturally relevant topics, universal design for learning, and experience designing inclusive syllabi.
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate students and their success through mentoring, engagement with high-impact practices, and/or involvement with student groups.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with historically marginalized identities.
