Job Title: General Manager

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our cafe operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall management of the restaurant, including staff supervision, customer service, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the restaurant, including staff supervision, customer service, and financial management.
  • Interviews applicants and makes decisions regarding hiring and firing with input from the management team and trainers.
  • Manages shift staffing and makes decisions for increasing or reducing overall restaurant staff based on assessment of sales trends.
  • Supervises, observes, and directs the work of all hourly employees during each shift.
  • Evaluates employee performance and conducts timely performance evaluations.
  • Makes decisions regarding employee pay increases and promotions.
  • Monitors and verifies hours worked by employees and approves payroll.
  • Imposes discipline, including termination of employees for poor performance, misconduct, or other reasons.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels to support quality standards and freshness.
  • Responsible for all cash handling.
  • Handles and resolves guest and employee complaints and grievances.
  • Communicates guest and employee issues to the Regional Manager or Human Resources representative as appropriate and necessary.
  • Evaluates and maintains consistent execution of Champagne's Tres Bon Service at all times.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and develops the company culture.
  • Demonstrates a complete and current understanding of Champagne's products, training programs, and financial results, by adhering to all operating standards and procedures.
  • Assists in implementing sales plans and controls to meet or exceed financial goals.
  • Maintains proactive security awareness for our guests and employees.
  • Adheres to Champagne's security practices and procedures.
  • Maintains a current knowledge and compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, remarkably clean, and friendly atmosphere for our guests and employees.
  • Maintains Champagne's food and beverage standards by performing daily quality checks of all Champagne products.
  • Maintains legal compliance in all areas, including employment law, guest relations, and alcohol service.
  • Oversees responsible alcohol service at all times.
  • Maintains personal professionalism and holds staff accountable for professional behavior.
  • Demonstrates effective, professional communication at all times.
  • Maintains a strong sense of urgency for self and store.
  • Maintains proper hygiene and wears proper attire and ensures that other employees are doing the same.
  • Supports, promotes, and practices all of Champagne's policies and procedures.
  • Completes duties or tasks that may be assigned by the Regional Manager.

Requirements:

  • Two-year college degree and/or two years of management experience.
  • Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol.
  • Strong organizational and financial skills, including knowledge of PC programs to support tasks relating to these skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Complete Champagne's Orientation.
  • Knowledge of all Champagne's policies, procedures, and products.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures and practices.
  • Satisfactory completion of Champagne's MIT Training Program.
  • Any applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required by city or local agency.
  • Complete all state-required Supervisory training.
