About the Role:

The Operations Manager - Landfill is a key position within the Republic Services organization, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a landfill site. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are in compliance with safety, environmental, and equipment maintenance policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the landfill operations, including supervising staff and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to achieve business objectives, including fill sequencing and density goals.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Area Manager to ensure effective communication and coordination between departments.
  • Monitor and control all liquid and/or gas extraction systems on or around the landfill site.
  • Manage relationships with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Establish productivity goals and ensure adherence to operating standards.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience or participation in Republic Services' management trainee program.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites.
