Water System Maintenance Technician

Job Description
The Water System Maintenance Technician will assist with the maintenance and operation of the community's water infrastructure, including the delivery of safe drinking water, ecological management of stormwater ponds and streams, and sanitary collection and delivery of household and industrial drain water.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain public drinking water distribution systems, including fire hydrants, gate valves, and water storage equipment.
- Evaluate and assist with the repair of stormwater run-off systems, including surface water ponds and interconnected water management features.
- Operate digital mapping and work management tools, as well as hand tools and power tools.
- Communicate with hydro-vacuum cleaning crews to ensure high-pressure cleaning systems reach the full length of sanitary main-lines.
- Assist with structure repair crews by using various tools to remove and repair manhole components and rainwater collection structures.
- Perform grounds maintenance activities, including restoration of lawn areas damaged by utility repairs, landscaping, and lawn mowing/trimming.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years or older; related experience preferred.
- Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record required.
Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to lift/carry/push/pull at least 50-75 lbs, ascend and descend ladders and manhole steps in tightly confined spaces, and operate a motor vehicle.
