Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Permanent Glazing Estimator to become part of our forward-thinking team in the manufacturing sector. This role is ideal for an individual with extensive experience in commercial glazing, project management, and specialized knowledge in bullet-resistant, blast, and storm impact glazing.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Glazing Estimator, your main responsibility will be to create precise estimates for our glazing projects, ensuring competitive and accurate bidding.
Your tasks will include analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other relevant documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating data to ascertain material and labor needs and compiling detailed lists.
- Calculating cost factors and generating estimates for management purposes, including planning and scheduling.
- Preparing cost and expenditure reports and other essential documentation at regular intervals throughout the project.
- Collaborating with clients, vendors, and team members to discuss and refine estimates and address any issues.
- Conducting specialized studies to develop standard hour and cost data or implement cost-saving measures.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the Permanent Glazing Estimator position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Glazing Estimator or in a comparable role.
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial glazing and project management.
- Experience with bullet-resistant, blast, and storm impact glazing is essential.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and associated costs.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
