The system is recognized for its advanced heart care services provided at the Reid Heart Center, the only dedicated heart and vascular center in the region. Job Responsibilities:
- Execute clinical laboratory science in the field of cytology.
- Examine specimens collected from patients to aid in the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diseases.
- Perform additional tasks within the pathology department as assigned by the pathologist or assistant director.
- Maintain high standards in specimen preparation, screening, interpretation, and reporting of microscopic slides promptly.
- Identify results or issues that necessitate referral to the Pathologist.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and participate in quality enhancement activities.
- Assist with fine needle aspirations (FNA) and bone marrow procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with certification as a Registered Cytotechnologist by the ASCP.
- Valid Cytotechnology license with successful completion of competency and proficiency assessments.
