Role Overview: As a Cytology Laboratory Specialist, you will practice clinical laboratory science in the field of cytology.

Your responsibilities will include examining materials or specimens obtained from the human body to provide essential information for diagnosing, preventing, or treating diseases, as well as assessing medical conditions.

You may also be tasked with additional duties within the pathology department as directed by the pathologist or assistant director of Pathology, which may involve clerical tasks or responsibilities in the histology section of the laboratory, depending on personnel availability.

Your role will ensure the high quality of specimen preparations, screening, interpretation, and reporting of microscopic slides in a timely manner. You will also engage in performance improvement initiatives within the department and participate in quality enhancement activities.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and certification as a Registered Cytotechnologist by the ASCP are required. A valid Cytotechnology license, including successful completion of competency/proficiency testing, is also necessary.


Schedule:
Full Time - 40 Hours per Week, Day Shift, 8am-4:30pm, with no holidays or weekends.
