Georgia-Pacific is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Specialist to join our team in a full-time capacity at our La Mirada, CA office. As a leading manufacturer and marketer of building products, tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose, and related chemicals, we are committed to operating in a manner that is environmentally and socially responsible and economically sound.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, prepare, and/or ship samples for outside lab analysis
- Conduct compliance-related inspections, including waste, stormwater, SPCC, air, and other regulatory requirements
- Help prepare and/or review regulatory reports to outside agencies
- Leverage available technology platforms to transform work processes and strive for automation
- Participate in an unprecedented skill-building opportunity to prepare for a career in EH&S at GP
- Receive hands-on training and practical application of safety and health practices at GP, along with exposure to business and manufacturing processes
- May be offered the opportunity to gain exposure to subject matter experts and key leaders in our manufacturing facilities
- Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Principle-Based Management
- Enrolled in a degree or alternative program (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)
- Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2025
- Willing and able to relocate per program requirements
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
- Enrolled in an Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Health, Natural Sciences, or related Engineering degree program
We anticipate paying between $78,000 - $80,000 for this role. Our benefits plan includes medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life insurance, ADD, disability, retirement, paid vacation/time off, educational assistance, and may also include infertility assistance, paid parental leave, and adoption assistance.
