As a Supply Chain Operations Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement concepts to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality in processes at the manufacturing plant or distribution center.
  • Document elemental breakdown of all job tasks for use in standard work, standard operating procedures, and training.
  • Perform process analysis to determine productivity barriers; recommend and assist in implementing solutions for removing the barriers.
  • Work closely with plant leadership on continuous improvement opportunities and value stream mapping.
  • Evaluate labor productivity utilizing labor management tools.
  • Assist in the maintenance of engineered labor standards.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow processes, staff requirements, line balancing, root causes issues, etc.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with team leadership and teamwork, especially outside the classroom.
  • Skilled in the following applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop and execute solutions.
  • Ability to work with basic engineering and mathematical concepts and principles, applying them to practical situations.
  • Ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relationship-building skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Qualifications include working toward, or recently acquired, a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
