Position Summary:

Pandya Medical Center is in search of a proactive and detail-oriented Phone Triage Medical Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient phone inquiries, coordinating follow-up appointments for those recently discharged from healthcare facilities, and monitoring quality metrics to uphold the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Patient Phone Triage:**
- Manage incoming patient calls, evaluating their medical needs and advising on the appropriate actions.
- Offer medical guidance under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Identify and escalate urgent cases to the relevant medical staff.
- Accurately document all patient interactions and triage decisions in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

2. **Appointment Coordination:**
- Organize follow-up appointments for patients discharged from hospitals or emergency services.
- Liaise with hospital systems to gather essential patient information and discharge details.
- Ensure timely scheduling of follow-up visits to maintain continuity of care.
- Inform patients about their scheduled appointments and provide necessary instructions.

3. **Quality Monitoring:**
- Track and assess quality metrics as outlined by the medical center and regulatory agencies.
- Gather and analyze data related to patient outcomes and adherence to treatment protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to implement enhancements based on quality findings.
- Prepare and present quality metric reports to the management team.

Qualifications:

- **Education:** Medical Assistant certification from an accredited institution.
- **Experience:** A minimum of 1-2 years in a medical assistant capacity, ideally with phone triage experience.
- **Skills:**
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- **Certifications:** Current CPR certification is preferred.
