Position Summary:

Pandya Medical Center is on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Phone Triage Medical Assistant. This role is crucial in managing patient phone interactions, scheduling follow-up appointments for those discharged from medical facilities, and monitoring quality metrics to uphold the highest standards of healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Phone Triage:**
- Manage incoming patient calls, evaluating their medical concerns and advising on the next steps.
- Offer medical guidance under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Identify and escalate urgent cases to the appropriate medical staff.
- Accurately document all patient communications and triage decisions in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

2. **Appointment Coordination:**
- Organize follow-up appointments for patients recently released from hospitals or emergency care.
- Liaise with hospital systems to gather essential patient information and discharge details.
- Ensure timely scheduling of follow-up visits to maintain continuity of care.
- Inform patients about their appointments and provide necessary instructions.

3. **Quality Monitoring:**
- Track and monitor quality metrics as established by the medical center and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Collect and analyze data related to patient outcomes and adherence to treatment protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to implement enhancements based on quality findings.
- Prepare and present reports on quality metrics to the management team.

Qualifications:

- **Education:** Medical Assistant certification from an accredited institution.
- **Experience:** At least 1-2 years in a medical assistant capacity, ideally with phone triage experience.
- **Skills:**
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- **Certifications:** Current CPR certification is preferred.
