Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Geography Faculty member to join our team at Highline College. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching courses in the Geography Department, engaging in departmental initiatives, and maintaining competence in teaching and the discipline through professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Teach courses in the Geography Department, with a focus on in-person and hybrid courses on our main campus in Des Moines, WA. Requires online teaching experience.
  • Service: Engage in departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives.
  • Professional Development: Maintain competence in teaching and the discipline through professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree (or higher) in Geography or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teaching Experience: Community college teaching experience is highly desirable.
  • Course Expertise: Experience teaching Survey of Geography and World Regional Geography courses, both online and in-person.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrated experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Assessment and Curriculum Design: Academic training or experience in assessment and curriculum design is highly desirable.
