Product Engineer Job Description

Job Summary

The Product Engineer will be responsible for configuring new and existing components to meet customer requirements for various butterfly, ball, knife gate, water control gates, and water control valves. This role will involve working with SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD to create working drawings, generating Bill of Materials and Process Sheets, and providing shop floor engineering support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel, customer service, and sales force on product-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain manuals, procedures, and practices required for ISO certification maintenance.
  • Support Product Management/Engineering through development and clarification of customer needs.
  • Identify and document cost savings ideas with justification and ROI calculations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical degree, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD, PLM databases, and ERP software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Direct experience in valves, controls, or similar applicable industrial products.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works, Autocad, and JD Edwards ERP systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain in stationary position or standing position for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
