Position Overview
As a Plastic Fabrication Supervisor, you will oversee operations within the Coating and Services Shop, ensuring the efficient execution of plastic fabrication tasks related to the maintenance and repair of naval vessels.

Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass the following duties:

  • Assessing workforce needs and reallocating staff as necessary to adhere to project timelines.
  • Supervising a team responsible for all aspects of plastic fabrication work essential for ship and submarine upkeep.
  • Providing mentorship and on-the-job training to team members in plastic fabrication techniques.
  • Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that all team members comply with safety regulations.
  • Communicating any potential issues to management that could affect project schedules, costs, or quality.
  • Evaluating employee performance and recommending individuals for promotions, awards, and necessary training.
  • Planning the allocation of personnel, tools, materials, and facilities to execute both nuclear and non-nuclear operations.

Employment Conditions
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be suitable for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
  • Must successfully pass employment verification checks.
  • Compliance with Selective Service registration is mandatory for males born after a specified date.
  • Must obtain and maintain a security clearance prior to starting the role.

Work Environment
This position involves working in environments where exposure to physical and chemical hazards may occur. Personal protective equipment is required at all times during work shifts. Additionally, travel may be necessary, including potential trips to remote locations.
