About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Cataloging and Metadata Specialist to join our team at the UCSF Library. This role will focus on cataloging and metadata management for all library collections, ensuring accurate and timely description and discovery of resources. The successful candidate will work closely with our Metadata Analyst, Research and Technical Services Managing Archivist, and Digital Archivist to achieve our goals.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $42.00 - $56.22 per hour, based on our location in San Francisco, CA. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cataloging and Metadata Specialist, you will be responsible for:

* Performing original and copy cataloging for materials in all formats for the library's general and special collections

* Creating, editing, and reviewing catalog records to ensure accuracy and consistency across our databases and OCLC WorldCat

* Participating in special projects related to cataloging, database maintenance, and authority control

* Supporting efforts related to digitization, archives, and special collections discoverability and access

* Collaborating with colleagues to create metadata for collections and manage physical collections for deaccessioning
