About the Job

The Institute of Health Informatics at the University of Minnesota is seeking a highly skilled Junior Scientific Programmer/Data Scientist to join Dr. Sisi Ma's research team. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development of computational causal discovery and predictive modeling theory and methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data processing and analysis infrastructure to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop and implement machine learning, statistical, and data-mining algorithms for biomedical and healthcare-related data.
  • Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to communicate and present analytical results.
  • Develop and modify software and demonstrations to support research projects.
  • Build documentation for all software, code, and experiments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Physics, or Informatics, or related field, and two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or R.
  • Experience with SQL or other database technology.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
