Job Overview

Astec Industries is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative products that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products and improve existing ones.
  • Conduct design for manufacture assessments to ensure that final designs meet cost, performance, and build quantity requirements.
  • Administer design history and practice proper engineering document control processes to ensure drawings are up to date.
  • Work towards identifying commonality in design to assist with manufacturing standardization.
  • Provide timely response to Root Cause Analysis and Corrective action requests related to design issues and/or warranty problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on manufacturing and design.
  • Experience with heavy equipment assembly and fabrication, as well as manufacturing processes and assembly line processes.
  • Continuous improvement and Lean practice experience.
  • Proven ability to influence, lead teams, and drive change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately to keep up with engineering, sales, and production requirements.
