Facilities Cleaner

Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Project Manager or designated supervisor, the individual will maintain a high standard of cleanliness across various assigned tasks. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in janitorial services, demonstrating a strong commitment to cleanliness and meticulous attention to detail.

Note: This role requires travel to multiple locations.

Compensation: In accordance with California's pay transparency regulations, the hourly wage for this position is $18.00, supplemented by an additional $4.41 per hour for health and welfare benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to all regulations regarding building access and egress.
• Must be physically capable of executing all assigned tasks and be free from communicable diseases.
• Utilize cleaning agents, tools, and equipment such as vacuums, mops, and floor machines effectively.
• Employ ladders and other equipment as necessary.
• Report any fire hazards, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs, including malfunctioning lights and plumbing issues.
• Perform essential cleaning duties, including but not limited to:
  • Emptying and sanitizing waste receptacles
  • Disinfecting and polishing water fountains
  • Restocking supplies
  • Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces
  • Conducting spot cleaning
  • Vacuuming carpets
  • Sweeping and mopping hard floors
  • Wiping down window blinds and sills
  • Cleaning interior windows
  • Shampooing carpets
  • Stripping, scrubbing, rinsing, waxing, buffing, and sealing floors
  • High dusting and cleaning
  • Following established protocols for chemical handling and mixing

Supervision

This position operates independently without direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one year of relevant experience in housekeeping or sanitation.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with janitorial methods, materials, tools, and safety practices.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and may be required to stand or walk for extended periods, as well as push or pull heavy equipment. Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching may be necessary.
