Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team on the 4th Floor Medical/Surgical Unit at Wheeling Hospital. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care activities, including personal, physical, and comfort needs of patients, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
  • Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and other patient comfort measures.
  • Assist in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment to help prevent and/or control infections and to provide for the safety of patients, visitors, and employees.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
  • Prior patient care experience preferred.
