Job Summary:

As a Patient Care Technician at NorthShore University HealthSystem, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care. Reporting to the Clinical Manager or designee, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Licensed Practicing Nurse to deliver basic nursing and personal care to patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:

- Provide basic nursing and personal care to patients as delegated by and under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Licensed Practicing Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on the assigned unit.

Requirements:

- The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of high school. Candidates who are part of a CNA apprenticeship program will also be considered.
- Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- Completion of an accredited CNA course and the successful completion of the CNA certification exam, EMT or paramedics training course, current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation required.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
