Job Description

The Tropical Grille General Manager position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that both the front and back of house are running smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide the team to achieve company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily restaurant operations, including front and back of house management.
  • Lead the team to success by providing guidance, support, and feedback.
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Regularly review product quality and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Organize and supervise shifts, staying within prescribed labor budgets.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Conduct staff evaluations on time and provide constructive feedback.
  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products.
  • Manage the restaurant's image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
  • Creates detailed reports weekly and conducts daily store audits.
  • Promotes the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and events.
  • Trains new and current employees on proper customer service practices.
  • Manages labor and delegates tasks effectively.
  • Recruits, selects, and hires the best candidates for open positions.
  • Provides counseling and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops and supervises schedules for team members, ensuring adequate staffing.

The Restaurant Manager position is responsible for maintaining a work environment consistent with Tropical Grille's standards, including:

Requirements:

  • Ability to work 50 hours a week.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Three strong supervisory references required.
  • A minimum of three years of proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, or Hospitality Manager.
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to recall ingredients and dishes.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Acute financial management skills.
  • AS degree in Business Administration or hospitality management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally sit, balance, reach with hands and arms, climb, crawl, kneel, stoop, and crouch.
  • Ability to lift items of up to 50 pounds.
